What it does

Zoho People manages employee information, onboarding, time and attendance, performance and learning. Candidate onboarding gathers information before the joining date and can turn the completed profile into an employee record. A continuing free edition covers basic records, time off and documents; onboarding and broader HR functions are part of paid editions.

Zoho People separates candidate onboarding from the employee record. Begin pre-onboarding before the joining date, collect the personal information and documents, and monitor completion with progress reports and reminders. Once onboarding is complete, the candidate can be converted into an employee.

Customize the collection fields or use the supplied personal-information and policy fields. Attendance, learning and performance tools can then use the employee record, depending on the edition. Payroll, expenses and recruiting are separate connected Zoho products.

The free edition provides basic employee information, time-off management and document storage. Paid editions extend those functions, including onboarding. A thirty-day trial lets a team evaluate a paid edition; the account moves to Free when that trial ends unless it is upgraded.

Sign in to the Zoho People account and use the subscription link to review or change the edition. The onboarding features therefore need to be included in the chosen paid plan before that process is put into regular use.
